Our First Annual School Starting Feast

I was looking for a fun 1st day of school tradition! And NIE NIE came through for me once again! So after my little shout out our new tradition starts with big "feast" to commemorate school starting! I decorated the house and made some REALLY neat vases for a few wild flowers, streamer and balloons! AND some homemade school themed place mats and name cards for each guest! The boys also had their own school tray to finish off the theme!
And to top it off the KING of the feast got his own crown!
I used pictures of school supplies and the school bus and then some of his favorite things like superman, and lightning mcqueen! On the front it said Super School Spencer! It turned out SO cute and he loved the chance to be have special crown with all his favorite things on it!
For dinner we had Steak Peanut Satay's, Grilled pineapple and corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes (Spencer's favorites)!
After dinner we had a fun silly string fight with Grandad and Jenise (our special quests)!

And then we came in for Spencer and BJ's first fathers blessing before school! It was really special, after BJ explained it to Spencer and we pryed Coop away from the chair Spencer jumped in and said his own little prayer as BJ was getting ready! (it was really cute)!! The blessing was beautiful and it helped all of us feel a little more ready! (by all of us I mean ME)
After bath time we had our SPECIAL pencil cake! OOOOOoooohhh! It was actually a weight watchers brownie (it only had the mix, beans and zucchini in it:) but the kids ate it up!

The clothes are all set out the back pack is by the door we are all ready for tomorrow! Lets get some sleep!

All I need...

So the past 2 weeks I have been swallowed up in "CRAFTING" Amber and I are doing a craft booth at Peach days in Hurricane and at the craft fair in Fillmore (Ambers hometown)!! Well Peach days is THIS weekend and so I have been SEWING EVERY DAY ALL DAY! Here is a little glimpse into what its been like at my h0use.....
I know its neglect and very messy! But I love what I have been working on it feels so good when what you create turns out! Surprisingly I can sew (A LITTLE) and so I hope it turns out well at the craft fair! I'll post a few pictures of my crafts! I need some options and ideas on how to improve!!!!

Here comes Preschool!

We took Spencer to his "meet the teacher" at his new preschool! When we walked in from the look on his face you would have thought he was walking into a wonderland! I was so thrilled to see the excitement and anticipation in his face as he walked around to all the stations and different areas! I was the only parent there with a camera (YEA!) but I couldn't miss this moment!
Every day he is going to sign himself in in his own little book! He was really excited about that!
This is a few pictures of upstairs where they have circle and table time! Each week they will make crafts and learn about a different letter of the alphabet! He made himself a name tag and met the class pet! He really enjoyed finding his cubby and exploring and touching EVERYTHING!
Then we went downstairs where they have a trampoline, and LOTS AND LOTS of toys and places to pretend! A puppet show, a kitchen a little bus and caterpillar tunnel! And a really great jungle gym!

After playing downstairs and making sure to SEE EVERYTHING we went outside and Spencer played on EACH toy he could find! IT WAS SO much fun to watch him enjoy each new thing and want to figure everything out!!!!!
We were the 2nd to the last people top leave and Spencer was so disappointed he couldn't just stay and start school right away! We are both hanging on by a thread waiting until the 31st for the 1st day of school!

7 years already?

On August 17th BJ and I celebrated out 7 year anniversary! The time has flown by and yet I cant really remember life with out my Prince Charming! He gives so much of his time and effort to me and the boys! I am so grateful to have his as my partner and best friend!

To celebrate we were able to piggy back a Anniversary trip with BJs air force qualifying test in Provo! Brent and Krisitie watched Spencer and Cooper and Amber watched Graham (THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!) And we were able to get away for 2 nights!!!
AaaaahhHHHH
Being able to be together with out any questions or whining or crying was a little piece of heaven! Driving up to Provo I realized how great it was when we were able to talk with out any interruptions! Usually Spencer makes it his personal mission to interrupt AS SOON as we begin a conversation! IT WAS SO GREAT to be able to just hang out together!

Not to mention the SWEET hotel we stayed in! I LOVED how retro chic it was! This was our room...
This is the Lobby I thought it was very retro chic! I was kinda in love with it!
We went to a few GREAT places for dinner and lunch.... with out kids....ahhh! We really enjoyed ourselves at a restaurant again! We went to the Bombay House for our big dinner! We haven't had good Indian food together since Hong Kong so it was a real treat! Can you tell BJ LOVED me taking a picture of him while he ate? Hehehehe
They had such a great atmosphere! And it was so exciting to dress up and go out together! I might have loved it a little more then Beej but he was such a champ about it and ooooed and aahhhed over my dress so it was ALL worth it!
The next day we went to Tucanos for lunch and ate and ate and ate until we were rolling in our chairs! It was delicious and we had fun playing with the red green light they give you! Trying to switch it over as we saw the GOOD stuff come out! hmm the food was so tasty!
We had planned ahead to do something fun and different while we were there! I had found a place that rented tubes so you could float and raft down the Provo River! And then as soon as we pulled in it started raining and the wind picked up :( :( :(
So we went and saw the Time Travelers Wife (BJ's fantastic idea!) it was SUCH a great love story! We BOTH cried a few times! Then the next day it stormed all day so we went and saw a MAN movie! District 9 was intense and intriguing! We laughed at ourselves a few times for going to 2 movies but we NEVER go anymore with the kids so it was a nice change of pace! And since all our "creative" ideas involved being outside this was a good plan B!

It didn't really matter what we did because having so much time together was the perfect way to celebrate our 7 years together! I am looking forward to making this year LUCKY! I know that no matter what the next step is for us we will take it together and enjoy every minute! Because even through the ups and downs of our life together we have always been able to turn to each other and smile! (even if that smile does come after a few tears!!!:)

I LOVE YOU BJ and I LOVE OUR LIFE TOGETHER! THANK YOU for choosing ME and for continuing to choose to love me and support me each day!

Moments from this month!

I have been really busy this month and because I am SO far behind I am just going to throw out some highlights from my whirlwind month!

The boys have been so active and all over the place..... anyone surprised?
The boys got these SWEET shirts and have loved playing pretend in them!

I started weight watchers and have made some really yummy healthy food! It seems like I spend a lot more time thinking about what to eat and how I can make it healthy! SO that's been rewarding! This is Salmon and veggies in a Tin foil pocket! It was super yummy!
I have also been up to Salt Lake and Provo a bunch! My mom has been in and out of town and so the kids and I have gone up there to get her!

We had an accident where I was rear-ended on the I-15 we were all ok and it was the other cars fault it was just uncomfortable!
The good side of going up north so much is I was able to go to NIE NIE's favorite cupcake place in Salt Lake! (Not to good for the diet, but so SO YUMMY!) If you don't know about the NIE NIE Dialogues you NEED to check her out! She is really uplifting and positive about being a mom and a wife! She was recently in a terrible accident where she was burned and has been so honest but still positive about her trials! I never miss a post! ANYWAY I was a bit starstruck to be in her favorite spot but the cupcakes are to die for so it made it worth it!
BJ wasn't as enthusiastic as I was, he hated buying them but he loved them once he tried it!
All summer long there has been Free lunches at the park! From 12 to 1 they had sack lunches for the kids! It was a great reason to get out of the house and let the kids play and get tired before nap time! Amber and I tried to go every day!
This is a cute little video I caught of my two little monkeys jumping on my bed.....
I am going to keep caught up from now on! PROMISE!!
